BVI boat charters (British Virgin Islands), are great and very popular. (passports only)
These excursion boats are generally larger motor boats, stopping at 3 or 4 islands and include all the trimmings such as continental breakfast, open bar, snorkel gear, snacks and shrimp cocktails. The sailboats being slower and more relaxing will do the BVI island Jost van Dyke which is home to world famous Foxy’s and the Soggy Dollar Bar on White Bay.
These excursions cover Virgin Gorda and “The Baths” which is 30 miles from the USVI and is more comfortable on the bigger boats because it is directly East and therefore into the weather going there. It takes an average of 1 ½ hours to arrive there. There are great lunch stops such as Marina Cay “Pussers”, Cooper Island, Peter Island, Norman Island “Willy T’s”, “Foxy’s”, “Soggy Dollar Bar” to name a few.
Other islands in the BVI that are popular for snorkeling are Norman Island “The Indians” and “The Caves”. Tortola, which is the largest and it has snorkeling and surfing around it. Anegada is a little further out has magnificent snorkeling.
